The New Hyde Park Chamber Benevolence Fund made a $300 donation to Maria Fiore for the RDH12 Fund for Sight on May 6. RDH12 is a form of Leber’s Congential Amaurosis, roughly 75-100 people in the country have this mutation gene. Maria’s daughter Bella has this RDH12 gene that is rapidly destroying the rod and cone cells in her retina and will eventually lead to blindness.
