Reader’s Write: New age requires new, old answers

The Island Now

The nature of the human being with free will is what makes each of us the individual which we have become. During long aeons we each did have to deal with all kinds of circumstances from which we have gained experience and have developed what knowledge we now have.

Many of our experiences during these long aeons have been quite horrible such as being eaten in one piece by a croc or gator, falling to one’s death, being burned to a crisp in fire, having one’s head blown off in war or chopped off with an ax or guillotine or a neck stretch at the gallows.

Much of it done by human to human and much more is still happening today.

The foregoing possibly has an effect on a person’s present life. I here acknowledge that there are those whose religious beliefs and other factors don’t agree with what is known as reincarnation.

Some say that every human is created ‘brand new’ each time with some with some to have a good life and for others to suffer. That infers that Our Creator is capricious and sadistic.

This does not harmonize with sound logic. We each bear a degree of responsibility for our circumstances.

From a positive view, we see that each person comes into the (physical) world with a diverse individual set of aptitudes, talents, knowledge and abilities, etc. Added to that, some do have problems as mental, emotional and physical.

In truth, no two are exactly the same. Education has to address the particular needs of each one.

Naturally, all need to be at least basically literate and have basic math skills and the like. Not everyone needs to be an engineer. Only a relatively small number of these are needed. Many of the things we have today have long been perfected. I once mentioned a clock radio I have that now has been keeping perfect time day in and day out with large LEDs for 45 years.

If I want to catch the news I just flip the switch and the radio still works too. As another example, I imagine that the state of perfection for microprocessors is coming soon.

Anyone wishing to become familiar with any subject can find the needed information these days. The idea of a standard common core, the same for each is completely out of the question.

There will always be the need for many to merely do common tasks. For others, what they need most is just some happiness to heal their ills.

I could continue with this and fill up the entire newspaper but I believe I have said it. The common cure for the Common Core is for each parent to stand up for the needs and benefit of their children. It does however behoove everyone to gain a basic knowledge of our modern technological gadgets such as automobiles so as not to be taken for repairs that are not needed by those we should be able to trust. They want money too.

There will never again be enough 40 hour per week jobs for everyone. The new age is here and more often now I hear this acknowledged. The shelves in the stores are full.

The welfare of the people is one of the duties of our government.
