From the Desk: National Night Out, 50th pool party

Paul Ehbar

There are two upcoming events taking place in the Village. Please mark your calendars.

National  Night  Out

On Aug. 6, the Neighborhood Watch Committee will host the first, Children’s Parade for a Safer Williston Park.

Children and their families will assemble on Broad Street at Brown Street. Ride your bicycle, tricycle,  scooter, wagon or go in style being pushed in a stroller.

The parade will end at Kelleher Field where Italian Ice will be served by block captains. Children will also receive a certificate to show that they participated in the parade. We are hoping to have a representative from Nassau County to talk about bike safety.

Neighborhood Watch block captains will meet at Kelleher Field at 7:00 p.m. and will greet the children at the finish line.

A police officer from the 3rd Precinct will be our guest speaker

50th Anniversary of the Roger Fay Williston Park Pool

For the first time at the pool, we will have a live band, Williston Park’s own “Acoustic Blue.”

Tickets may be purchased at the Village Hall no later than Aug. 2.  You can also complete your ticket order at the pool.  Pool membership is not required.
