Motherly love on film for Mother’s Day

The Island Now

Looking for something fun to do with your mom on Mother’s Day while avoiding the long waits at restaurants?  Then head on over to the Cinema Arts Centre to see the hit film, “Mamma Mia!,” once again on the big screen.

Join Hollywood superstars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Stellan Skarsgård for a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget.

Set on a colorful Greek island, the romantic comedy features bride-to-be Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who is about to be married when she discovers through an old diary of her mother’s that any one of three men could be her father. She invites all three to the wedding without telling her mother, Donna (Streep), once the lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos.

Now, as all the key figures from Donna’s past return to the picturesque Mediterranean shores they all walked 20 years prior, one beautiful bride will discover the secret of her past while one lonely mother finds out that it’s never too late for a little romance… all while singing classic ABBA tunes, including the title song, “Take a Chance on Me,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “The Winner Takes Its All,” and the crowd-pleasing “Dancing Queen.”

Relive the music, the laughter, the island revelry and all of the motherly love on display in this favorite film. Tickets to the show, $7 for members and $12 for the general public, may be purchased by going to www.cinemaartscentre.com.
