With support and funding from the Friends of the Library, the Mineola Library launched its American Girl Dolls circulating collection on April 9.

American Girl dolls Luciana, Addy, Julie and Rebecca are now available to Mineola cardholders only with children ages six and older.

The dolls must be checked out and returned only to the Children’s Desk. They cannot be returned in the drop, to the front desk, or to another Library.

The library has four dolls currently, and is accepting donations in good condition.

The dolls will be available for a seven day checkout and will come with a carrying case, a bed with bedding, the doll’s first story, a journal to record your adventures with the doll, and a booklet of Mineola history during that doll’s time period.

The dolls are not holdable, although there is a waiting list available at the desk if the doll a resident would like to borrow is checked out.

Donations of American Girl dolls in good to excellent condition are also welcome; donations are tax deductible.
