Mineola Junior FD cools off at Lake George

William Gresalfi

The members of the Mineola Junior Fire Department took their annual trip up to the Lake George region to enjoy the sites, fun parks and just have a plain good time. The year-round beauty of the mountains and lakes beckons anyone to come and stay a while. How could anyone resist?

They stayed at the Depe Dene waterfront lodge. Everyone enjoyed the rides and attractions at the Great Escape Amusement and Water Park. At the resort the juniors had a chance to swim and relax at the resort’s beach which has paddle boats, row boats, and canoes.

Some of members even did some fishing with a few catches. During the week they rented a speed boat and a deck boat, so our members could enjoy water tubing or just take a ride on beautiful Lake George.

One night they did the bumper car ride, laser tag and also went go-karting at the Adventure Racing Park. This trip was a great way to start summer. After six days it was time to start for home, though not until they had a chance to stop in Lake George Village for some shopping.

Upon arriving home, they were all a little tired, but with fond memories of the 2013 Lake George Trip.
