The Island Now

The 6th Grade Chiefs Lacrosse Team played in the Pal Lacrosse Festival at Farmingdale State University this past hot Sunday, and beat the Harborfields Tornadoes 7-5 and finished their season with an undefeated record of 9-0. All the boys played and participated in the victory.

The Chiefs offense got going early as they moved the ball up and down the field against the Tornadoes. Unselfishly the Chiefs offense passed the ball around the offensive zone. The scoring was provided by Chiefs Midfielders Michael O’Connell (4 Goals, 1 Assist), Matt Sluka (1 Goal), Thomas Albig (1 Goal) and a congratulations to Jalen Rivers (1 Goal) who scored his first career goal. The other Chiefs Midfielders Joey Ruscillo (1 Assist), Michael LaGinestra (1 Assist), and Dylan Vincenti fought hard for every ground ball.

Chiefs Attackmen Marc Chiappone (1 Assist), Nicholas Vitanza and Ryan Calderone kept the ball moving in the offensive zone, as Defensemen Joe Tallini, Nick Monteforte, Anthony Giunta and James Reardon suffocated the Harborfields Attackmen in front of the Chiefs Goalie Mike Sinisi, who made cat like saves.
