Two 16-year-old brothers from Manhasset and another man from New Cassel were arrested and charged this week with a series of thefts of and from vehicles on the North Shore dating to August.
They were linked to thefts of cars from Great Neck, Thomaston and Manhasset, among other places, the police said.
Issac Brown was charged with burglary, second-degree burglary, four counts of grand larceny, six counts of second-degree grand larceny, five counts of third-degree grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree criminal mischief.
His brother, Isaiah Brown, was charged with burglary, second-degree burglary, grand larceny, six counts of second-degree grand larceny, five counts of third-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.
Taylon Hill, 18, of New Cassel, was charged with possession of a forged device, possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree criminal mischief and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Hill also had an open warrant for criminal possession of stolen property, the police said.
Nassau County detectives said Isaac and Isaiah Brown stole money and a garage door opener Sunday from an unlocked car in a driveway in Caruso Lane in Glen Head.
Officers said the pair used the garage door opener to get into the garage where they found a 2017 Jeep and the key and drove away in the Jeep.
The siblings allegedly picked up Hill in Westbury in the stolen Jeep. Detectives say Hill used a forged credit card to buy food and gas. An on-duty police officer spotted the Jeep and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
Officers said the trio fled the scene, parked the car in a driveway on Hollow Court in Westbury and continued to flee on foot.
Officers established a perimeter with Nassau County Aviation and the K9 unit and all three teens were arrested on Cedar Road in Westbury.
After the arrests, police said charges were added after investigation into previous thefts of and from cars.
According to a news release, the trio is allegedly involved with 10 vehicle thefts, including a 2013 Audi from Valley View Road in Thomaston Aug. 19, a 2017 Porsche from Cleft Road in Mill Neck Oct. 8, a 2015 Mercedes from Bayport Lane North in Great Neck Oct. 9, a 2016 Honda from Manor Place in Manhasset Oct. 13, a 2016 Lexus from Locust Lane in Mill Neck Oct. 14, a 2017 Porsche and a 2016 Mercedes from Midlane South in Muttontown Oct. 18, a 2016 Audi from Glen Lane in Laurel Hollow Oct. 21 and a 2016 Lexus from Skyview Court in Oyster Bay Oct. 21.
Nassau County officers also said the three are allegedly connected to a burglary Oct. 21 of an Oyster Bay Cove home as well as the removal of a Georgia license place from a car in New Cassel in January and a wallet from a car on Koneig Drive in Oyster Bay on Oct. 21.
Issac and Isaiah are being held on $10,000 bond each and Hill is being held on $7,500 bond after the trio’s arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
