Manhasset students run drive for INN

The Island Now

The Manhasset Public Schools successfully collected non perishable foods for the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network).  The drive started Nov. 1 and ended Nov. 15.  The schools collected over 2,000 pounds of food and over $500.00 in cash.

The students helped the hungry and homeless on Long Island. The INN packages food cartons for the needy containing all the food including a frozen turkey to prepare a Thanksgiving meal at home.

The INN, a Long Island organization, has fed those in need since 1983. The INN is the largest soup kitchen on Long Island and feeds over 300 meals a day.  The INN addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, clothing and supporting services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek their help.

Many thanks for the Manhasset Community and Schools for supporting The INN.
