Mangano touts museum discounts

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano encouraged residents last week to take advantage of discounts offered by the Cradle of Aviation Museum, American Museum of Armor and Garvies Point Museum and Preserve this Winter Recess, from Feb. 14 through Feb. 21.

The Cradle of Aviation offers residents 50 percent off children’s admission for movie tickets at the IMAX Giant Screen Dome Theater, the Museum and the JetBlue Sky Theater Planetarium.  

Movies showing that week are: One World One Sky, Yellowstone, Mysteries of the Unseen World, Air Racers and Sea Monsters.  For more information on the Cradle of Aviation, please visit www.cradleofaviation.org.

The Museum of American Armor, located at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, offers 50 percent off museum suggested children’s admission.  

The Museum is a living tribute to every American who has worn the uniform and those who continue to defend our nation today. Its collection includes World War II tanks, artillery, armored cars and weapons that broke the back of the Axis powers some 70 years ago.

Garvies Point Museum and Preserve in Glen Cove offers residents of all ages a week of crafts and activities.  All crafts require $5.00 material fee except on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 18.
