Long Island International Film Expo to kick off with Nassau County Executive Curran

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran will join with the Long Island Film/TV Foundation to kick off the 22nd annual Long Island International Film Expo and discuss filming in Nassau County. LIIFE runs from July 12 to July 18 and will feature over 180 films, discussion panels, workshops and an awards ceremony.

In addition to Curran, the following will be in attendance for this year’s expo:

  • Larry Romano, actor from “King of Queens” and “NYPD Blue.”
  • Nassau County Film Commission Director Debra Markowitz.
  • Nassau County IDA representatives.
  • Long Island Film/TV Foundation representatives.
  • Filmmakers participating in the festival including Shawna Brandle of Rockville Centre for her film, “Family Obligations;” Brian and Lori Donahue of Mineola for their film, “The Guy: The Brian Donahue Story;” Max Hechtman from East Meadow for his film, “Stories of Strength and Hope: Preventing Youth Suicide;” Rob and Josh Graydon from West Hempstead for their movie, “Father;” Alex Scrymgeour from Santa Monica with webisode, “Eddie’s,” starring Eddie McGee, formerly of Commack; Jason Fité and Barbara Toschi from London with film, “Mea Culpa.”

The Long Island International Film Expo is being held at Bellmore Movies, located at 222 Pettit Ave. in Bellmore. More information can be found online at longislandfilm.com.
