Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) joined the officers and members of Port Washington Fire Department’s Protection Company No. 1 at the North Hempstead Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 14 for their 129th annual installation dinner.
During the festivities, Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton was delighted to present Nassau County Legislature Citations to 50-year members William B. Carpenter and John M. Murro, and 25-year-members Glen J. Wood, Albert Y. Butler and CJ Gober.
“Nassau County’s firefighters uphold a rich tradition of courageous volunteerism that is central to preserving the safety of communities like Port Washington,” DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It was a true pleasure to thank everyone at Protection Company No. 1 for stepping up to serve as first responders.”
