‘Katie’s Concert’ on at St. Agnes

A rock concert to honor the memory of Katie McBride and raise money for college scholarships in her name will be held on Nov. 23 at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre.

Michael McBride conceived the event as a memorial to his daughter, Katie, who succumbed to a rare cancer known as Burkitt’s Lymphoma in 2008 at the age of 11.

McBride, president of the New Hyde Park Funeral Home, also established the annual Katie’s Run event three years ago to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House, where Katie spent her final days with her family.

The Nov. 23 concert in the Monsignor Kelly Parish Center at 29 Quealy Place in Rockville Centre features Bruce Springsteen Tribute group, The B Street Band.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The admission price of $35 includes food and wine and beer for those 21 years old and older.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.KatieMcBrideFoundation.com or at the door.

More information is available by contacting Michael McBride at mike@nhpfh.com or by calling him at 516-250-2824.
