In celebration of the 226th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman (left) and Councilwoman Anna Kaplan (right) presented Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Honorary President Betty DeVries with a distinctive proclamation. The document declared the week of Sept. 17 through Sept. 23 a week of special recognition throughout the town in honor of the Constitution. DeVries has tirelessly committed herself to the support and growth of the DAR organization. In the past, she acted as regent of the North Riding Chapter, regent of the state of New York, and served nationally in the role of reporter general.
