Readers Write: Jews should not be expected to be liberal

The Island Now

So let me take this in, some of these people in your reader contribution column have defined those principals that are expected of a Jew who grew up in New York and if those principles are not adhered to, it is due to mental illness as a function of a pathological childhood.

The arrogance is jaw dropping. It exceeds even Bloomberg’s statutory dietary requirements.

I happen to be a Jew who grew up in New York, and a Tea Party Republican. Saul Alinsky believed that casting your opponents as ridiculous through ridicule, or in this case, dismissing their views as a function of a traumatic childhood or some mental illness is more effective than debate.

I know these people well. They were my family. One of my uncles was an open avowed Marxist who dedicated his life to the destruction of this country. I have spent a good portion of my life battling the collective disease of progressivism in the Jewish community.

Let us start with the term progressive. It is the social entropy of government to acquire ever more power and control. This phenomenon is actually regressive.

At the core of progressive ideology is the very old concept of “from each according to their capacities and to each according to their needs.” It’s just good old Karl Marx, the same old crap that has failed everywhere it has ever been tried.

The flaw in socialism goes well beyond a mediocre people in the absence of meritocracy with a false assumption of altruistic motivation.

In order to achieve an ideal Marxist society, a dictator, or oligarchy of leaders with absolute power must function altruistically. This defies human nature, and it is why every experiment with that ideology, i.e. the USSR, Cuba, and North Korea became poor, dark grey and corrupt.

Limited government was the root of the success of the American Constitutional Republic. Real social innovation was the restriction of government power, the sanctity of the individual, individual rights, and a great society that was born of the self actualization of the best and the brightest.

The shift to collective public policy formulated around the needs of the worst and the dumbest was our demise.

I am using past tense because I do believe that they have won. This place is done, they destroyed it, we will never repay our debt, their hordes are multiplying and flourishing, and it will hit a breaking point.

The attribution of mental illness as the root cause of any view disparate of progressive policy is not new. Re-education camps are a branch of the health care system in Marxist society.

I am sure that Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel will be happy to serve the dear leader as his gate keeper of those fine institutions in the next phase of the new “progressive” Socialist Amerika.

Some basic political concepts. Left is Marxism. Right is fascism or Nazism, which by the way, is a totalitarian ideology identical to the left with the inclusion of institutionalized racism.

That is real racism, not the newspeak nonsense of the progressives to put their opponents on the defensive and attempt to end debate. One who believes in individual liberty and limited government in a constitutional republic, i.e. the Tea Party that was founded on those principles, is not extreme.

Some more amusing newspeak re-definitions, i.e. If white males are held accountable for whatever transgression any of their demographic ever perpetrated over all history, that is social justice, but apply that same standard to any other demographic and that is hate.

An insurance policy is not a real, or good insurance policy unless you are paying for yourself and a bum. Nobody has a right to someone else being forced to pay their way. That is tyranny, not compassion.

Asking for an ID at the polling place is not racism.

I did have a challenging childhood. It built character. My views do not make me mentally ill (at least not in a bad way – there has to be a joke in here. I am Jewish).

Half the country is not mentally ill. Especially when they are the responsible half that pay for everything.

As far as mental health goes, it would seem that one who is secure enough to form opinions independent of their group identity would be much healthier than one who forms a political ideology, and even an entire persona based on a pathological obsession with group identity as a function of severe insecurity.

In the case of the latter, their enemies, the very people who hate them, thus define them. How sad.

I worked hard, and perhaps harder than someone else who had a less challenging childhood. I became an engineer and I design medical equipment.

Nobody owed me anything. I did not buy a house, or anything else for that matter, until later in life when I could afford it. Life is often tough and almost never “fair.” Man up.

The world will be a better place for it. And last, but not least, is my personal experience with progressives as “a Jew who grew up in New York.”

In their personal lives, there is nothing even remotely altruistic about the progressives. The hypocrisy is mind numbing. Many of the most extreme progressives live in opulence, and wretched excess, acquired through absolutely ruthless capitalism.

Progressivism, redistribution, socialism and all that stops at their doorstep. They ain’t giving anything away to anybody.

My commie uncle would always say, “that’s too simple.” He was, by the way, a brilliant guy, an elementary particle physicist, that is until NASA kicked him out for subversive activities during the Vietnam war era. What a waste.

But sorry, it is that simple.
