Miao Hou and Friends: A Celebration of Classical and Traditional Chinese Folk Music

Hou began her piano studies in her native China at age four. She was accepted to the Curtis Institute of Music at the age of 16. There, she was awarded the Festorazzi Prize as the “Best Pianist of the Year.” She completed her Master’s degree at the Juilliard School and obtained a Doctorate in Music Arts from the State University of New Jersey at Rutgers. Hou is a member of the faculty at the Long Island Tutoring Academy. Her performance will feature a special chamber music ensemble.

Local Author Visit: Udit Dave

Author and Herricks Schools graduate Udit Dave will be on hand. His recently published book, “Hidden Heroes,” discusses the role of medicine in sports and how physicians help athletes bounce back from major injuries. Dave is expected to talk about his writing process. Online registration begins Jan. 6. Walk-ins are welcome.
