Historic Port as you’ve never seen it!

The Island Now

The Landmark on Main Street will be hosting a presentation of historic photographs of Port Washington, updated and expanded.

President of the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society Christopher Bain will show over 100 rare photographs, postcards, maps and illustrations of Port Washington, dating from as far back as the 1880s, when there were only a few hundred people living in the town, to as recently as the 1960s.

Using rarely seen aerials, the images could be placed in a clearer context than ever before. Those interested in the history of Port Washington, or Long Island itself, may find great enjoyment in these images.

The event takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
