PROGRAMS and EVENTS
Our V.I.T.A. (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) Program has been extended to all Saturdays until May 15. You can call the library, on a weekday, to request an appointment for either 12 noon or 12:30 p.m. on those Saturdays.

Paint Night! Sketching and Acrylics with Alma Friday, April 9 at 7 p.m. Sketch and paint a beautiful bird with talented artist Alma. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too; Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black; 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background; Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate).

So Ready for Laughter: Bob Hope & World War II with Miryam Wasserman Tuesday, April 13 at 12 noon. Movie star and comedian Bob Hope achieved a lot during his decades-long career. But his work during World War II entertaining and lifting the spirits of troops holds a special place in American history. Explore Hope’s contributions to the war effort on a private virtual presentation of New-York Historical Society’s upcoming exhibition (organized by the National World War II Museum in New Orleans). Dive into Hope’s early life and career and see how his legacy still reverberates more than 70 years later.

Planning Without Fear, PART 1: Estate Planning Basics Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m. Presented by Beth Polner Abrahams, Esq. Learn the basics about Wills, different types of Trusts, including special needs trusts, and other estate plan options, and advance directives such as powers of attorney and health care proxies/livings wills. Bring your questions!

Book Discussion: Fresh Fiction Book Club Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Lost & Found Bookshop by Susan Wiggs. Time for Kids: Dinosaur Stomp Friday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. Ages: Birth- 5 years (with parent/caregiver). Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. as we travel back in time to the land of dinosaurs. Activities include music, movement, fine & gross motor development and storytelling. There will also be a sensory bin activity to engage and boost development. Suggested Materials are: Small box or bin; Dried beans or rice or cereal or sand; Dinosaur figures and Musical instruments.

Stemtastic: Spring into Science! Monday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. Grades: K-4 (parental help with younger grades). We’ll perform some “egg” stravagant experiements with the incredible, edible egg, learn how chickens grow and breathe inside the egg and the importance of each part of the egg. You’ll also get to meet our live bunny & chicken, which have become classic symbols of springtime. Materials needed: 2 eggs, glass of water, salt, spoon, magnifying glass (optional)

Yoga Thursday, April 15 at 5 p.m. All Ages Youth (Kids/Tweens/Teens). Join Yogi Micheline in a night of relaxing poses. A yoga class for kids of all ages!

Spring is in the Air! Pajama Story Time Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. All Ages! Join Mrs. S., Ms. Karen & Mr. B. for stories, songs, and springtime surprises!
