Kindergartners at Hampton Street School in the Mineola Union Free School District took part in the annual snowman project, creating a winter keepsake for their parents. With the help of the Mineola High School FabLab, students designed the “Just My Size” snowmen.
High school students helped with the wood cutouts, making them the same height of each student. Then, the kindergartners completed the project by adding on fingerprint eyes and mouths, as well as a hat and a scarf. The personalized projects are sent home and for years to come, they will serve as a festive reminder to families of how tall their students were in kindergarten.
