Great Neck Soccer Club teams up with Messing

The Island Now

The Great Neck Soccer Club has always taken great pride in their intramural soccer program, as it has been instrumental in helping their players to build the foundational skills they need to transition into the travel soccer program.

There are opportunities to enhance the program, as well as to provide an alternate path for those players who are not ready to make the move to travel soccer. Starting this spring, the Great Neck Soccer Club will partner with Shep Messing Soccer to provide oversight of their intramural program.

Shep Messing Soccer is run by former Harvard All American, U.S. Olympian, U.S. National Team and New York Cosmos goalkeeper Shep Messing. Messing lived in Great Neck when he played with Pele for the Cosmos, and is a resident of Great Neck once again. He is passionate about ensuring that children receive the best possible playing experience and build a lifetime love of the beautiful game.

The Great Neck Soccer Club believes that Messing’s involvement with their intramural program will ensure that they continue to provide the best soccer program for the youth of Great Neck.

The Great Neck Soccer Club’s Shep Messing Intramural Soccer Program will kick off on April 13 and 14.  The registration deadline for the intramural program is April 7.  To register, go to www.gnsoccer.com/site/intramurals.
