Five Great Neck secondary students were selected for the 2013–14 Long Island String Festival Association Orchestra. Held from Nov. 15 to 17, this Orchestra brings together Long Island’s highly talented, young string musicians.
Emily Gold, North High School 11th-grade cellist, will be participating in the High School Division (grades 10–12).
Junior High Division (grades 8–9) participants are: North High ninth-grade violinist Matthew Weinstein, eighth-grade violinists Keva Li from North Middle, and Adrian Chen and Asia Zhang from South Middle.
These students are taught by instrumental music teachers Joseph Rutkowski at North High, Matthew Trinkwald at North Middle, and Alan Schwartz at South Middle.
