The annual Glen Head School Reading Celebration came to a close Jan. 25. This year, the theme was “Reading Lifts Us Up.”
Award winning author and illustrator Kathryn Otoshi visited the Glen Head School during the reading celebration. Otoshi presented her character-building books “Zero” (about self-esteem), “One” (about bullying) and “Two” (about friendship), which encourage community building. Additionally, Otoshi shared the vibrant illustrations in her book, “Beautiful Hands.” She asked the students and faculty to stand up and take the “Kindness Pledge” with her and more than 100,000 students around the United States.
