A Glen Cove man has been arrested for a robbery at knifepoint, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Resident Gregory Czaplicki was charged with robbery in the first degree, assault in the third degree and menacing in the second degree for an incident that detectives say occurred on Friday, Feb. 28, at 10:35 p.m. in Sea Cliff.

According to detectives, a 23-year-old male was sitting in his car at Veteran’s Memorial Park when he was approached by Czaplicki, who was dressed in all-black clothing.

“The subject opened the car door, demanded the victim’s wallet and struck the victim multiple times while displaying a knife,” a news release from the Sixth Precinct said. “The subject then fled the scene on foot east bound on 12th Avenue.”

Czaplicki was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. He is represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County.
