It was a beautiful day as New Hyde Park Memorial High School students, staff and members of the community celebrated homecoming on Sept. 21.

A spectacular parade featuring incredible floats that tied into the school’s ”Gladiators Go Global” theme and upbeat music from the school’s marching band kicked off the annual event. It continued with the Gladiators taking on Mepham High School. Unfortunately, New Hyde Park came up short.

Bryan Lo and Amanda Garcia were named homecoming king and queen. Awards were also given in different categories based on class floats. In the senior high category, the Class of 2021 took home the best overall float for their Beijing-themed creation. In the junior high category, the Class of 2024’s Taj Mahal float was named best overall winner.

The halftime show featured spectacular performances from the New Hyde Park Twirlers, the Romanettes, the Step Team, and the varsity cheerleaders.
