Girl Scouts of Nassau County recently celebrated Black History Month by awarding the GSNC Trailblazer Trefoil to five distinguished women. The Trailblazer Trefoil is awarded to an individual, organization or business who has identified and implemented innovative changes that positively impacted Girl Scouts and/or the community in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Among the recipients were: Carol Ransom of Hempstead, Cynthia Gamble of Uniondale, Andrea Elder-Howell of Freeport, Betty Monroe of Freeport, and Karol Greaves of Elmont.

As part of GSNC’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, GSNC will be awarding 30 Trailblazer Trefoil Awards in 2020. The next awards will be presented during Women’s History Month in March 2020.
