‘Gary the Great’ coming to East Hills

The Island Now

The Kids in the Park Committee announced a creative event for East Hills children and families.  On Sunday, March 23, Magician “Gary the Great” will entertain with his high-energy magic show that involves all audience participants regardless of age.

Gary the Great, who belongs to the International Brotherhood of Magicians, has trained with Jef Johnson of Cirque du Soleil and has received the Philip Rosenthal Grant for Comic Excellence for his unique and theatrical performances. Unlike many magicians who refuse to explain their demonstrations, Gary the Great will host a “Teach-A-Trick” Workshop following his show.

“Chair Stacey Siegel and the members of the Kids in the Park Committee constantly bring energy and added excitement to the community with their growing array of programs for both children and parents,” said Village of East Hills Mayor Michael Koblenz on the Kids in the Park Committee’s dynamic efforts.

“We are fortunate to add this show with the award winning magician Gary the Great,” said Stacey Siegel. “I am confident that this performance will create great curiosity and fascinate each member of the audience.”

Gary the Great’s performance will begin at 4 p.m. in the Village Theatre, with his Teach-A-Trick Workshop following afterward at 4:45 p.m. The show will cost $8 per person for residents and $10 per person for non-residents (includes Teach-A-Trick Workshop for children).

The Kids in the Park Committee includes Chair Stacey Siegel, Vice Chair Alethea Shapiro, Celia Ayenesazan, Wendy Bishop, Melissa Brooks, Risa Eshaghian, Jodi Golden, Brett Goldman and Jessica Vishnick, with Deputy Mayor Manny Zuckerman and Supervising Trustee Clara Pomerantz.
