Floral Park players honored by NCIAA

Players from the Floral Park Memorial Varsity Basketball Team were recognized by the Nassau County Interscholastic Athletic Association for their exceptional performance in athletics, scholarship and leadership qualities for the winter 2014-2015 season. 

The team reached the semifinals before eventually losing to Long Island champion North Shore. The varsity basketball team shared the conference championship for the second year in a row. 

Even though senior Lorraine Hickman didn’t play, she will be headed to St. Francis of Brooklyn next year on a full basketball scholarship.

Junior Kaela Hillaire was named player of the year and acknowledged for her 1,000-point record for her high school career as well as Academic All State, as well as Second Team Long Island.

Erica Bowe was named All County for her exceptional performance this year, while Faith Balletta and Natalie Hickman, both Sophomores were awarded All Class. Jeanna Orefanos was named All Conference and presented the Scholar Athlete Award.
