Kids between third and sixth grades can attempt to conquer obstacles inspired by the television show “American Ninja Warrior.” Kids will be instructed by professionals in a safe, yet fun environment. Parents and guardians must stay in attendance at the academy.

Dinosaur World Live

Attendees will learn about dinosaurs through this show. The audience will be joining an explorer across uncharted territories as they encounter several kinds of dinosaurs, each looking life-like. Kids can participate in the prehistoric archaeological dig at 5:30 p.m. in the Tilles Center Patron’s Lounge for free. Regular ticket prices for the event range from $29 to $55.

STEM Explorers: Surrounded by STEM

With help from the “Green Teens,” kids will investigate the worlds of science, teaching, engineering and math. Each category will have its own activity station for kids to see and perform hands-on activities and demonstrations related to the discipline. While admission to the museum is $14 or $13 for those 65 or older and aren’t museum members, this activity is free after admission.

Family Movie Matinee: Toy Story 4

The Floral Park Library will be holding a screening of “Toy Story 4.” There will be snacks on hand for the families in attendance. Kids must be accompanied by an adult to attend the screening. There is no registration required for the event. The film’s running time is approximately 100 minutes.

3D Printing and Engineering Design Winter Elementary Session

Monday, Jan. 13, 5 p.m.

Kids will learn how to create their own designs and print things on a 3D printer. They’ll become familiar with Tinkercad and Polar Cloud, explore the language of 3D printing, explore the engineering design process, and learn the basics of how to use a Computer-Aided Design program. This event is meant for kids between third and fifth grades. This five-class session is $125 for the public or $100 for science center members.
