The Island Now

For the Adults, weekly Chair Yoga is now Hybrid (ZOOM and live at the Library). February in-person programs feature Smarter Social Security, English Language Learner classes, and a very special Sounds of Black History with Syndi Graham, Pastor David Wright and the NY Fellowship Choir. ZOOM in for Meditation and Forgiveness, and Maritime Smuggling on Long Island – From Pirate to Rumrunners.
The Floral Park book club reads “When We Believed in Mermaids” by Barbara O’Neal. The Library Board meets in person on Wednesday, January 12th at 7:30pm.
February Children’s programs include Family Pre-school Hour, Play Hour, and Tots Night Out with a Time for Kids, A Visit from Spider Hero, Baby Start, Play Hooray, Storytime, DIY STEM Fake Snow, and Stained Glass with Through the Looking Glass.
Teens and Tweens can enjoy Valentine Cake in a Jar and Teen Valentine Cuisine with Chef of d’Future, a Vacation Mosaic Art Project, and P[ART]y Art Teen/Tween Art Project 101. There’s also a launch party for the Nintendo Switch!
The whole family can enjoy the Long Island Rescue Rabbit Group.
The Made with Love Knitting and Crocheting group meets weekly Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesdays at 11:30 am.
