An Island Park man was arrested last Thursday for menacing employees at a Garden City Park business.

Kevin Fortin, 25, of 4071 Broadway in Island Park was arrested on the charge after going to Air-Now at 190 Atlantic Ave. to pick up his final paycheck on Aug. 4 at 6:15 p.m., Nassau County Police detectives said.

Fortin, who police said had been recently fired from his job at the company, allegedly displayed a handgun and threatened employees at the business when he was told he needed to turn in his work uniforms before he would be given the check.

Fortin brandished the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun, as he was leaving the location, police said.

No injuries were reported at the scene. Police recovered the pellet gun when they arrested Fortin at his home later on the day of the incident.

Fortin was charged with menacing second degree and possession of a dangerous weapon fourth degree.

He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Aug. 5.
