A Port Washington Fire Department emergency vehicle collided with a car on Shore Road while responding to a medical emergency on Thursday.

No one was injured in the accident that occurred at 9 a.m., but both the car and department’s Ford SUV were damaged, Port Washington Fire Department Chief Brian Waterson said.

“Lucky and fortunately, everyone was okay and there were no injuries, so we’re grateful for that,” Waterson said. “The cars had some damage to them and one was leaking anti-freeze, but it was nothing too serious.”

Waterson said another unit was dispatched to the medical emergency and it arrived on time.

“We got another unit out to the emergency quickly, so everyone was okay,” Waterson said
