Douglas Elliman celebrates expansion

Douglas Elliman Property Management agents on Monday celebrated the recent renovation of the company’s Roslyn location to accommodate additional real estate professionals and an updated digital infrastructure.

“We have referrals from this office going out all over the world. It also helps that we’re located right next to premier sushi, a premier Mexican restaurant and a premier salon,” said Anthony Piscopio, Douglas Elliman’s North Shore regional branch manager. “These are the things our clients come here for, and we want to be near our clients. It’s just a great recipe.”

Douglas Elliman moved to its current location at 1528 Old Northern Blvd. about eight years ago from a storefront near the Roslyn Cinemas that Piscopio said was used primarily as a rendezvous point between agents and clients.

Douglas Elliman has offices in 76 locations throughout the United States, including New York City, Westchester and the Hamptons.

By February 2012, the company expanded its branding operations as the luxury real estate market picked up, Piscopio said, and a physical renovation later became possible when neighboring Sorrell Salon shed one of its adjacent storefronts.

“It was a very strong time to expand,” said Ashley Murphy, a public relations director for the company.

Construction on the renovation began in February and was completed by the end of March, Piscopio said, during which approximately 1,500 square feet of space was added to Douglas Elliman’s Roslyn location.

The location stayed open during the renovation, Piscopio said, and Douglas Elliman added 16 licensed agents to its lineup of real estate professionals.

Piscopio said the company also upgraded its Roslyn’s digital and communications infrastructure to broadcast client meetings and corporate events.

“We just followed the pace of the market,” Piscopio said.
