“Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.”

Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

On Wednesday April 4, the annual reorganization meeting will be held at Village Hall.

Newly elected Village Officials will be sworn in and began their terms of office.

At this meeting, all appointed officials and committee members will also be sworn in as the village begins a new and exciting year.

This Saturday, March 31, at 12:30 pm, the Williston Park Recreation Committee will be hosting their Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

This event will be held at Kelleher Field. Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet the children.  I’m told that candy, hidden in plastic eggs, will be available for all participating youngsters.

Egg hunters are encouraged to bring a basket to hold their collected eggs. Bags will be available for those without a basket.

The Committee sends the message: “Come and celebrate Spring with the best neighbors around!”

The committee has worked hard in order to make this event bigger and better every year. Come one, come all to spend a few hours with friends and neighbors as the young children run through Kelleher Field attempting to “find hidden eggs” that will be covering the field.

The Village of Williston Park Beautification Committee invites all to celebrate “Little Make a Difference Day” on Saturday, April 21. Those individuals and groups looking to participate should meet in the Village Hall Parking Lot (Rear of 494 Willis Ave.) at 9 am.

We will provide T-Shirts, garbage bags and gloves.  Please bring your rakes, brooms and shovels. Groups will be assigned public areas within the Village and we only ask for an

hour or two of your time to help clean up and beautify Williston Park for Spring. Please call 746-2193 or email Village Hall boardsecretary@villageofwillistonpark.org for questions, information or to register your group.

On behalf of my family and the families of the Village Board, we wish all a Happy Easter and Passover.
