Come Take a Look at Ellen’s One-Of-A-Kind Treasure Trove

Main Floor Display at Bryant Library now through June

Ellen Broder has been collecting vintage handbags, jewels, and accessories since she was a teenager, falling in love with their timeless charm of days gone by. She chooses her one-of-a-kind treasures with thoughtful care, changing her handbag and jewels to match her outfits.

In Ellen’s words, “Once a collector… always a collector! Shopping vintage is my personal passion. I am always on the lookout… you never know what you’ll discover. I love and appreciate the history of how each piece was made, and the quality and originality that was used in creating it. I feel amazing reusing and recycling my vintage items. I love wearing the ‘old stuff.’ All the treasures that bring me pleasures.”

Ellen’s fabulous finds have been featured in Newsday, Vintage and Victoria, and Old House Journal. She has exhibited vintage showcases in Long Island libraries. Once her greatest enjoyment was creating vintage fashion shows for charities. She lives it, she loves it. Stop by The Bryant Library to be dazzled by her collection.

Ed Sullivan & The Golden Age of Rock & Roll: Lecture by Keith Crocker

Wednesday, May 15 at 1 p.m.

Online Registration Required

This is a program that will have your patrons dancing in the aisles. The Ed Sullivan Show (aired 1948 through 1971) introduced the viewing public to an incredible amount of talent. Patrons will delight to hear live performances from the beginning of rock and roll (Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Frankie Valli and the Four seasons) to the British Invasion (the Beatles, Petula Clark) and so much more. This is the definitive program on this subject. A great program for baby boomers to introduce their young ones to the music they had grown up with.
