Americana: Songs for Tenor & Soprano sponsored by LICA

Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m.: The annual Long Island Composers Alliance concert is a song recital celebrating the American experience, songs that explore the diversity of American life, past and present. Come hear 11 LICA composers’ music.

Among them: “Sarah do not Mourn Me,” a song set to the words of a poignant letter written to the wife of a Civil War soldier, by Marga Richter; Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken,” set to music by Murray Cohen; and two songs set to the Langston Hughes’ poem “Harlem Series” by Sonny Knable

After the concert, meet the performers and composers. Concert directors Cohen and Herbert Deutsch have been the organizers and directors of this annual LICA concert for all 19 years of this series. For additional information, visit
