The Bryant Library Scribes: Workshop Led by Vivian Swift

Thursdays, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. Got a memoir, novel, or short story in the works, or on your mind? Bring your ideas, rough drafts, and polished revisions to our writer’s workshop. Discussion leader Vivian Swift is the author of three volumes of illustrated travel memoirs. Elizabeth Gilbert (“Eat, Pray, Love”) calls Swift “… my favorite travel writer… her first book is on my personal Top 10 Books of All Time List.” Swift’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Christie’s Magazine, and Antiques Magazine. Her journalism in Long Island Woman Magazine was awarded for outstanding feature writing in 2016.

The Honeymooners: Jackie Gleason & Company — Presentation by Keith Crocker

Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. Enjoy a delightful trip down memory lane as you learn about the career of comic actor genius Jackie Gleason and his entourage with focus paid to America’s most beloved television show. One of the highlights of this program is a showing of a “Honeymooners” episode titled “Hello Mom,” which aired on Dec. 3, 1955. Online registration required.
