Temple Chaverim is hosting its third Comedy Night on Saturday, Feb. 6, beginning at 8 p.m.
Comedy Night will include live music by The Lucky Chai Lounge Band along with three well known comedians.
Taking the stage this year will be Mike Gaffney, a semi-finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and his clip the one was used to promote the show on “Ellen” and “The View”. He has appeared on “The Artie Lange Show,” two appearances on “Gotham Comedy Live” as well as “The Best of Gotham Comedy Live,” and “30 Rock.”
Joining him will be Sandy Marks who has made dashing appearances on CBS’s “The King of Queens,” HBO’s “Comedy in the Park” as well as films “Kiss Me Again” and “Manhattan Comedy Nights” which he won a “Telly” award for best motion picture in the comedy section.
Also appearing is Tom McTiernan who has been seen in some of the best comedy clubs in the country as well as opening for entertainers such as Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck and Joy Behar.
“Last year’s Comedy Night, what a great evening of friends, food and funny,” said the Temple’s Jill Schwartz. “Our evening started off with the band playing some great music from the 70’s, and enjoying sangria and snacks. Then we entered the ballroom, everyone ready for a night filled with laughter and tears…tears from laughing so much.
“There were three sets, three different comedians, all with slightly different styles, but each very funny,” Schwartz added. “I thoroughly enjoyed the show, laughing until my sides hurt. The evening ended with us chatting with old and new friends during dessert and coffee. We’re so looking forward to this year’s Comedy Night at Temple Chaverim.”
Reservations for Comedy Night are available to the entire community and are $40 per person, including wine, soda and snacks.
