Spectrum Designs Foundation was recently recognized by Google and Microsoft for its role in providing employment and fostering a supportive work environment for individuals with autism. Organization leadership traveled to the West Coast to participate in round table discussions, share best practices and accept an award.

Google’s Economic Impact Report 2018, highlighted Spectrum Designs for their pivotal impact on employment opportunities for disabled persons in the state. The organization also received an award at the Grow with Google Summit in San Francisco.

“Spectrum Designs is honored to have received this award and been afforded the opportunity to represent New York State at this important gathering. It was inspiring to meet businesses from all over the U.S. and see that the spirit of entrepreneurship and creating jobs in our communities is alive and well,” said CEO Patrick Bardsley.

Additionally, Spectrum Designs was invited to share best practices at Microsoft’s Autism-at-Work Summit in Washington. The meeting brought together scholars, diversity managers, HR professionals, employed individuals with autism, non-profits and research institutions to address autism in the workplace.

“We are humbled to be included in a community of scholars and practitioners who are sharing successes and addressing the challenges that arise from creating and sustaining a neuro-diverse workforce,” shares Tim Howe, Spectrum Designs COO.

While Spectrum traveled to the West Coast to participate in these conferences, back in New York at the organization’s Headquarters, the print shop was busy producing large orders for satisfied customers, including Metro-North Railroad, Uber and Google. Coast to coast, Spectrum Designs is doing its part to champion inclusion in the workplace for all.
