The Island Now

Frank Carey High School student-artist Sandy Yang had her artwork selected to be displayed at the Heckscher Museum of Art as part of the “Long Island’s Best: Young Artists” exhibition. Yang submitted her work under the guidance of art teacher Gina Samet.

Each year, students in grades 9-12 are invited to create a work of art inspired by artwork shown in the museum during the current school year and submit to the juried exhibition.

The show is available for public viewing at the museum from April 24-May 23, with timed ticket entry. Beginning April 24, the exhibition will also be available for viewing online at the museum’s website.
