Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board recently thanked Jesse Ryan and members of Boy Scout Troop 201 for their hard work and dedication in installing bat boxes and a flagpole at the Town’s Animal Shelter in Port Washington.

“We are so appreciative of the dedication and commitment exhibited by Jesse and his Troop,” said Bosworth. “Volunteering to give back is the cornerstone of being a good citizen, and we sincerely thank Jesse and Troop 201 for their work on this project.”

As part of Jesse’s Eagle Scout project, he worked with his Boy Scout Troop to help reduce pest and insect infections through the use of bat boxes and help beautify the grounds at the Shelter. The rank of an Eagle Scout is the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouting program.

Troop 201 was chartered in 1973 and serves the Albertson, Searingtown, Williston Park, East Williston, and New Hyde Park areas.
