A Queens man broke into a Manhasset motel and accosted and robbed a female guest last Friday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The Sixth Squad reported the arrest of a Bayside man at 5:05 a.m. on Friday in Manhasset.

According to detectives, at approximately 3 a.m. defendant Michael C. Lee, 29, of Bayside, who was staying at the Travelodge on Northern Boulevard, entered another rented room by pushing open an unlocked sliding window.

Lee confronted the room’s female occupant, 33, who called out to her boyfriend, 44, for help. They demanded to know why Lee was in the room and asked for his identification. Lee reportedly complied and handed over his license, but then fled the room.  The woman then noticed that an undisclosed amount of her money was missing and contacted police.

Police located the suspect and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Lee is charged with burglary in the second degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was arraigned later that day in Mineola, represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, and is expected to return to court on Friday.
