A Bronx man was arrested Sunday on Monday for attempting to rob Matteo’s of Roslyn at 88 Mineola Blvd. on Sunday morning, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Talli Kebbeh, 24, was charged with burglary in the third degree and is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said they received a phone call reporting a burglary in progress at 7:58 a.m.

Detectives said officers from the department’s 6th Precinct in Manhasset were told that a black male wearing a black hoodie, exited a broken glass door at the restaurant, fleeing the scene on a bicycle with one flat tire.

Following a “thorough investigation,” officers then found Kebbeh in front of a Shell gas station near East Hills School, where he was placed under arrest “without incident” shortly after 9:00 a.m., police said.

A person who answered the phone at Matteo’s Trattoria on Tuesday declined to comment on the incident.
