Twenty-six members of the Manhasset Secondary School National Art Honor Society were recently honored by the Manhasset Board of Education and administrator for the Arts Anthony Ambrogio for their contributions to the ninth annual Art for a Cure student art auction held on Oct. 30 in the school cafeteria. They received certificates of recognition for their hard work.

Held in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event raised several thousands of dollars for the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer. The coalition funds innovative research and increased awareness of breast cancer through education and also provides support services to those with breast cancer and related diseases.

Since the auction began, the event has raised more than $30,000 for breast cancer awareness, research and services. Art faculty members were also acknowledged for their guidance and support in organizing the event.
