Readers Write: Answering criticisms of Obama by Morris imitator

The Island Now

I have not seen a letter from Stephen Morris in this paper in awhile and, after reading last week’s edition, I wonder if he has morphed into John Messina.

I will not attempt to rebut every bit of Mr. Messina’s diatribe because I don’t have the stamina (12 days post extensive surgery – so please bear with me re spelling and grammar).

Messina mentions allowing “your active imagination run wild.”

Well, his certainly has. He of course, like most of the teapotted folks out there, decries President Obama shredding the Constitution but, of course, does not give even one specific example.

Too bad he doesn’t actually really understand the Constitution.

In his outline of this supposed Manchurian candidate he says “he had to not have a Judea-Christian background. I’m sure he meant Judeo since Judea is actually a location. No matter.

What Mr. Messina does not understand is that, according to the Constitution, there is no religious requirement to hold public, and elected office in the United States. It is perfectly legal for the President, or anyone else to practice a different religion each day of the week.

You know, that 1st Amendment thingy.

President Obama has the personality of Rasputin, Machiavelli, the Manchurian candidate and a Fifth Columnist?  Wow.  Sounds exhausting.

Since they are all different personalities.  But, hey, they all do sound evil so add them to the word salad.

Mr. Messina obviously does not like the EPA (invented if you will by Richard Nixon, a Republican).  Perhaps he would like to move to North Carolina and get his drinking water from the Dan River, which is full of coal ash; you know, from coal mining.

Which has actually increased since President Obama took office.

There has been conflict in the Middle East since the creation of Israel in 1948.

But of course, it all now President Obama’s fault that he has not brought peace. It is also now President Obama’s fault that ISIS, ISIL or whatever they are calling themselves this week is running amok in Iraq with U.S. weapons that were supplied to the Iraqi army by the U.S. in the immoral war started by George Bush.

He brings up Fast and Furious, which is just one of the cases of something called Gun Runner, begun by George Bush in 2006.

As for President Obama’s supposed “apology tour,” in 2004 – George Bush said the following to King Abdullah in regard to the horrors of Abu Ghraib: “….sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families;” “equally sorry that people have been seeing those pictures.”

Hmmm, that’s two (2) “sorry”s.  Bush even kissed King Abdullah!

I’m not even going to bother with his claim that we had the greatest health-care system on earth.

Sure, if you actually had health insurance. Not so much for those who did not.  As far as delaying a mandate, see George Bush in regard to Medicare Part D.

I believe there was more than one delay.

I’m done.  I’m tired.

In summation, John, John, calm down, you’ll hurt yourself.
