The third annual Kidstock features nationally acclaimed musical entertainment and will wrap up the town’s summer festival season with amazing music, games and more.

The day’s events will commence with live music from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a beach party with DJ Kev Dee from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and then finally a drive-in movie, “Escape from Planet Earth,” which will begin at 8 p.m.

Special guest master of ceremonies Roscoe Orman, better known as Gordon from “Sesame Street,” will introduce bands that play a blend of folk, rock, kid pop, and kindie rock. The musical lineup is highlighted by Grammy nominees Brady Rymer and The Milkshakes, as well as the Bari Koral Family Rock Band.  Musical interludes will be provided by Rock City, an interactive program presented by Bach to Rock, geared towards introducing young children to musical instruments.

As always there will be free arts & crafts and face painting. New entertainment for 2013 includes strolling performers from The Big Apple Circus, a 50-foot bounce castle and bounce castle obstacle course, and fun athletic events like baseball, soccer and relay races provided by Unlimited Sports, located in Port Washington.

The free open-air family music festival will take place on Sunday, Aug. 18 at North Hempstead Beach Park. Make sure to bring picnic blankets and/or beach chairs. Please call (516) 869-6311 for more information.
