If you are an adult and want to improve your English-language skills, or earn a high school equivalency diploma, the Great Neck Public Schools Adult Learning Center offers a variety of classes during the day and evening designed to meet your needs. Eligible participants include individuals 18 years of age or older who do not have a U.S. high school diploma or equivalent, and those with diplomas or degrees outside the United States.

Registration for Trimester I classes must be done in-person at the Adult Learning Center, 105 Clover Drive, on Wednesday, Sept. 5 or Thursday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; or in the evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The last day of registration will be on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Preference will be given to Great Neck residents and returning Adult Learning Center students. Please allow two hours to complete the registration process.

A full-range of English-language classes will be offered from beginning literacy to advanced ENL (English as a New Language). In preparation for the TASC (Test Assessment Secondary Completion) examination, classes will be available to improve math, social studies, science, reading, and writing. Once enrolled, students may also take elective classes such as Conversational English, Crossroads Café, and Citizenship, to name a few.

The non-refundable processing fee for Adult Learning Center classes is $100 for those who live or work in Great Neck (proof of residency or Great Neck employment must be submitted at time of registration), or $150 for nonresidents.
