The Port Washington Garden Club resumed its meetings in March after a cold hard winter. By now our spring gardens are a welcome sight!

New this year, the Garden Club is hosting a “Yard Sale” fundraiser, on Sat, May 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 13 Adams St., with lots of goodies. The rain date is May 20. Locals are invited to stop by and find your treasure or just share with us what works well in your landscape. New members are always welcome to join the Port Washington Garden Club. The club meets at the Port Washington Public Library. Check the library calendar for meeting dates.

The 2018-2019 year will be another busy, informative year for members, with wonderful monthly programs presented by master gardeners and local floral designers, as well as hands-on workshops and member garden tours.

The civic duties for the community continue. The community and especially the commuters are enjoying the beautiful pansies supplied and planted by Falconers Florist that are flourishing at the garden club-maintained window boxes at the train station. In a few weeks, the window boxes at the train station will be replanted by garden club members, with plants carefully selected for the season and maintained by the members.                                                                                                                                 The box container at the Town Dock has been planted by members and will be maintained to bring curb appeal with complementary enduring color and texture for the summer season.
