61-year-old man robbed at gunpoint in New Hyde Park

 A 61-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in New Hyde Park on Tuesday night at approximately 7:15 p.m., according to a report from the Nassau County Police Department.

Officials said that the victim exited the rear of a commercial business lot on 1586 Hillside Ave. when two unknown males approached him.

According to officials, the men were described as approximately six feet and five feet six inches tall.  Officials provided no further description.

A police spokeswoman said the victim was an employee or owner of one of the nearby businesses.

The two men, according to officials, were wearing black ski masks and pushed the victim and took a bag filled with currency and credit cards from his possession.  Police say the victim was uninjured.

Before fleeing the scene in a beige or silver Chevrolet suburban, officials said that one of the men pointed a handgun at the victim.  According to officials, the two men fled northbound on New Hyde Park Road towards Hillside Avenue.
