15 North Shore Students inducted in the Tri-M Music Honor Society

Fifteen North Shore students were inducted on into the Tri-M Music Honor Society, an organization that helps reinforce service through music, on Oct. 16. The society includes but is not limited to mentoring, tutoring and supporting fellow students at North Shore High School and in the community.

To be eligible for induction, students must be actively involved in their school’s diverse range of musical programs. In addition, students must participate and reach a Level V in the New York State School of Music Association (NYSSMA). These students are recognized not only for their outstanding academic and musical successes, but also their leadership qualities. Tri-M enables students all over the world to utilize their passion for music and give back to their community.

The inductees are Julia Capitelli, Kathryn Ditrano, Stephen Eder, Will Hunt, Hannah Ikawa, Rebekah Lando, Jacob Lando, Julia McLellan, Michael McMahon, Matthew Rodriguez, Abigail Schwab, James Vanchieri, Loretta Wang, Irene Zachariadis and Eileen Zhao. They were inducted into Tri-M by the director of choral activities, Jared Berry, and Rachel Viola. Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo also attended the induction.
